I fired up my browser and got out my trusty Google searchazilla to do the snooping for me and what did I come up with?!

Basically the '4' in the beginning of the number represents that it's some form of client error (in other words, not the server's fault), and the '04' means resource not found. So '404' means the client (browser) searched the server (the Internet) for a resource that didn't exist.
There! Well we all can rest easy now in our "puffed up", geeky knowledge... That is, until we come across another one of those errors again... Drat!
